Check ’em out. Stumbled across their stuff on LiveNation.
Official site: media page.
That’s /shah-VON/, you know? Too right.
Grimes played on Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night. My stupid cable service caught maybe 20 seconds of the end of her performance of “Genesis,” but the InterWebz comes thru:
Grimes – Genesis Live from Carola Barbieri on Vimeo.
UPDATE (12/2014): Found it again on Vimeo! Awesome! Thanks SheIsNameless/Carola Barbieri!
UPDATE: NBC seems to take stuff down after a bit. Sad. They also seem to block video updates to YouTube. So if you didn’t see it before, you’re just f’d.
Here’s the audio from that Fallon show.
Next best thing: photos of the event at Stereogum.
Golly, she sure gets cuter every time I see her. Cool to see her rig and how she handles live performance.
Danish-French group Elektrisk Gønner were featured in the latest (USA) episode of Lost Girl.
Off the Radar covered them back in March of 2011. Some artwork and few streaming songs there.
Also video for the tune “UknowwhatIwant” (the one on Lost Girl) on Vimeo (Definitely NSFW!):
ELEKTRISK GØNNER – UKNOWHATIWANT from ELEKTRISK GØNNER on Vimeo.
Interesting article on NPR.org by Ann Powers asking in the title if we “really know what live is?” but in actually rambling from discussion of buying One Direction tix to a mini-review of an article on Springsteen, and finally a mini-review of seeing Grimes live, and the way music has become “cyborgian,” but the performers keep it human and humane.
