The Naked and Famous have released the first track from their upcoming second album In Rolling Waves, “Hearts Like Ours.”
It’s definitely a worthy follow-up. I dig the wall of sound that they’ve stuck with, but the guitars punch through for some fuzzed out chunky riffs here and there. Combination of male and female vocals complement one another well. The breakdown near about 3:25 add some great electronic sounds behind the calm bridge. The build-up works well, starting with just Alisa’s vocal and the guitar, and swelling into the whole band and the backing vocals joining her, until the final moment, when the keyboard takes us out in single tones.
In Rolling Waves will be available from 16 September 2013.
